The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival is a perennial favorite as it returns to Seville Square each November. The Festival requires year-round planning by a dedicated group of volunteers who strive to bring about the finest juried Art Show, Heritage Art Show, Children’s Festival and Student Art Show, Performance and Main Staging event in the Southeast. Since it’s launch in 1973, the festival has never had any paid staff.
An Executive Board consisting of past festival chairpersons oversees the dynamics of the show and governance of the rules, including sponsorship policies. Community sponsors are recognized in the program, on this website, and throughout the festival grounds by distinctive and attractive signage. In an effort to keep the festival non-commercial, sponsors do not have “booths” or any physical presence. Distributing literature is also not allowed.
The non-profit Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival offers several sponsorship levels. All “profits” are disseminated through scholarships before year end—the process then repeats itself. This model has worked handsomely to the benefit of this community and has received national recognition and attention by communities who wish to imitate its successes.
